When someone is living with dementia, they are rarely walking the journey alone.
Behind every person with dementia is often a husband, wife, son, daughter, friend, neighbour, support worker, carer, or loved one doing their very best to help. This person is what we call the Dementia Companion.
Being a Dementia Companion can be rewarding, but it can also feel overwhelming. Many people suddenly find themselves navigating unfamiliar health and social care systems, legal documents, funding concerns, care decisions, and day-to-day challenges without knowing where to turn.
